The versatile, intrepid Canadian artist Peter Prince, is based on Salt Spring Island, BC. He has taken his musician’s soul and filmmaker’s eye from the Haida Gwaii to the Himalayas, but his heart is rooted in the Salish Sea’s natural beauty and culture. The breadth of his work is remarkable as he has produced and directed documentary films, music videos, and composed soundtracks for Film and television. His award-winning films have aired on networks in over 60 countries.

In 2018, he launched, BHUTAN – THE KIND KINGDOM. The 55 minute documentary gives voice to the “heavenly bird” of the Himalayas, the Black Necked Crane, and explores the vibrant cultural traditions and enlightened conservation initiatives of this enchanting Buddhist nation. Peter’s music is a fusion of contemporary Folk and World Music that creates a distinctive blend of acoustic roots and global grooves. With his rich resonant voice, Peter delivers artfully wrought lyrics in a masterful style that stays true to his folk origins. An artist renowned for the compelling stories in his songs, the music of Peter Prince takes the listener on a journey. Even more memorable are those occasions when Peter performs with his talented backing band; the passionate delivery of their live shows brings an entirely new dimension to his music.

A graduate of Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Technology in Motion Picture Arts, Peter has worked as a producer, director, cinematographer and editor for three decades. His projects have been broadcast nationally and internationally in over 60 countries.
