This is my first album of instrumental music and it was fun to make.  For many years fans have been asking me to create an all-instrumental-album for relaxation, meditation and doing yoga.  My collaboration with Oool Fjolkunnigr continues on this recording.  Oool is a very talented painter with a musician’s soul.  He has lived and traveled extensively in India and South East Asia for over 3 decades.  When not painting, he plays for indigenous dance and drama groups and once toured with the renowned Thailand band, Caravan.  Asian melodies permeate his sound and give an East-West-Gypsy feel to many of my compositions.  I play my Martin D-18 guitar, harmonica and various percussion instruments.  Oool adds mandolin, Chinese Opera flute, piano and Sherpa-Toon-nah – a wooden Himalyan style guitar with gut strings and the carved head of Mustang.  The soothing sounds of Light Dance have proven to be perfect for contemplation and as a peaceful background ambience for west-coast living.  Music from this album is also used in the soundtrack for a documentary film I directed – Salt Spring Island Discovery.  (Click here to see a short video sample of the film).  Life has been quite kind to offer me moments to dream this music.  It’s for people like you dear friends and family who helped me on my way.
